Today was my birthday!
When the kids asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said….
It was a gorgeous day, which meant going to our favorite post-temple-trip hiking trail and treehouse playground:
We left our home in a disaster of a mess, but we got to play together all day.
I got up at five this morning and finished the last of my papers and projects, so today was stress free and only playtime.
We came home to laundry waiting and dishes ready and groceries to put away, but we came home filled with temple power, family spirit, and fresh air in our lungs.
It was perfect, and I enjoyed every minute, except for the part where the baby cried herself to sleep in the van on the way home, but my ears come off so that was no big deal for me, I guess.
Now it’s time for me to pack, again: tomorrow is one of two Sunday rotations for the chaplaincy in Tulsa, and it’s a 24 hour shift from 5am Sunday to 5am Monday.
But I will be jumping back in to work with wind in my hair, and sun on my skin, and laughter in my ears.
We had a really marvelous day!
