Engagement Photos!

Today Nathan and I got a sneak peek at our engagement photos that we took last week!!!!

It was perfect timing, as real life (and the reality of our geographical distance) sets back in.

We asked Bethany Myers of Picture This! Photography to take our pictures, and she did a great job. She was so grown-up and professional, had a fair price, and really came prepared with ideas related to our theme. When she found out we wanted our pictures done in a library or old bookstore, she got permission from Gardener’s for us to have them taken there!

We had SO MUCH FUN!

Here are a few of the preview shots (we can’t wait to pick up the rest of the pictures and see them all!!!), with the silly ones first:

About Emily

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 2009. I serve as a Chaplain, and work as a counselor. I got bilateral cochlear implants in 2010, but will always love sign language. I choose books over television, and organics over processed. Nothing is as close to flying as ballroom dancing - except maybe running, when in the solo mood. I would rather be outside than anywhere else, especially at the river riding my bike or kayaking. PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy, and currently doing a post-doc in Jewish Studies and an MDiv in Pastoral Counseling. The best thing about Emily World is that it's always an adventure, even if (not so) grammatically precise. The only thing better than writing is being married to a writer. Nathan Christensen and I were married in the Oklahoma City temple on 13 October 2012, and have since fostered more than eighty-five children. We have adopted the six who stayed, and are totally and completely and helplessly in love with our family. Nathan writes musical theater, including "Broadcast" (a musical history of the radio) and an adaption of Lois Lowry's "The Giver". He served his mission in South Korea, has taught song-writing in New York City public schools, and worked as a theater critic for a Tucson newspaper. This is not an official Web site of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  2. TOO TOO Cute! My favorite one is the one where you are sitting down with the books in the foreground. It’s just a cool looking photo!

  4. Emily, congrats on your engagement!
I just found your story on Deseret News, and through that found your blog. I’ve looked all over your site for contact information, but couldn’t find any. So, I guess a comment here would be as good as email.
I work in the translation division of LDS headquarters in SLC as the ASL supervisor. I would love to chat with you more about life. We seem to have so many things in common, and I really enjoyed listening to your comments on the podcast.
Good luck on finalizing wedding plans!
Hope to be in touch with you at some point.
    Anna
